I have learned a lot in the last….
lifetime, i suppose…
it’s funny how certain events can totally warp your sense of who you are and what you want.
starting this label has really helped me to see what i do want to do and how i want to spend my time.
and it’s making music. writing it, recording it, editing it, remixing it, listening to it..
i’m grateful for everyone i have the pleasure of working with.
it’s not always easy to do that and also exist as a human being..
but it sure is fucking awesome giving it a shot. hahahaha.
i feel lucky and happy to be doing what i’m doing,
and i hope anyone out there enjoys what they hear.

The weird, wild world of music…
Well, this probably isn’t something I should be talking about right now…… but…
Man, this is harder than I thought. I didn’t think it would be easy…. But there are so many variables and constants…. It’s a lot for one person to take in… No wonder there are corporations and boards of shareholders and all that… It’s a lot for one person to handle…
That being said, I’m trying to navigate this entire new enterprise.. Here, I find I have produced what I think is a fantastic record, and now I’m trying to get it out there. Trying to get someone to pay attention. No wonder some artists take their pants off and say, “look at me, I don’t have any pants!!!!” to get attention….. I’m trying to be relatively classy, not sensational, push this art based on what I feel is its merit…. it would be much easier to go the other way….. Maybe in time that will happen, but I sort of hope not.. . I don’t want to pander, I don’t want to shoot for the lowest common denominator, but I don’t want this record to fade into nothing, either…
So, I will continue, slowly, surely, to try to do what I think is right for my artist and for my label….
Shit… this is hard…
There is no “easy” button for getting a great record out to the masses….
Or if there is, please let me know about it….
Be well, all.

Hollywood Fly Launches “Publicity Campaign.”
Hehehe. i know, I should probably sound a bit more professional than this, but I’m kind of laughing at myself right now…
With very limited resources, Hollywood Fly is pleased to announce that we started an advertising campaign in Seattle. While this in no way compares to any “Torpedo of Truth” tour, we are excited to start getting the word out.
So, if you’re in the Seattle area, keep your eyes peeled for the cover of Kid Moxie’s “Selector” album somewhere in the music section. It’s a pretty small ad, so make sure you have your glasses ready!!
And in case you don’t live near Seattle, the ad looks something like this:

Thanks for taking the time to read, and enjoy the music!!
